Sydney Helping Angels,
This is Our Story.
Sydney Helping Angels Inc. began its journey in 2017 as Helping Hands NSW Sydney, a humble Facebook page with a mission to serve those in need. We started small, distributing boxes of noodles and bread from our cars to families across Sydney. As our volunteer base grew, so did our reach and offerings.
Early Days
Our early efforts focused on providing bread to those in need, with a team of five volunteers loading up our vehicles and covering an LGA areas, Bankstown, Parramatta, Liverpool, Lidcombe, Merrylands, and Fairfield from Monday to Friday. As donations increased, we expanded our services to include other essential items, responding to direct requests from families in crisis.
Navigating COVID-19
The pandemic brought unprecedented challenges, but we adapted, working from our homes to prepare weekly hampers for those struggling.
We had the pleasure of having Mr Guy Zangari, MP, who visted us and honored to receive recognition from local leaders, a NSW Legislative Assembly Community Recognition Notice in 2021. we also had the pleasure of Kristina Keneally, join us and give us a helping hand.
Becoming Sydney Helping Angels Inc.
After the pandemic, we registered as Sydney Helping Angels Inc., determined to make a broader impact. We've continued to innovate and collaborate with organizations like Beck and Johnson pty ltd, distributing surplus food to over 100 charities and organizations.
